February 2007 through June 2007 – DeJong-Healy and Warner Concepts generated Educational Specifications and Program of Requirements (non-site specific) after a series of meetings with all user groups (teachers, youth leaders, specialists, administrators and other support service personnel)

April 02, 2007 – Interviews for Architect (selected Steed Hammond Paul Leading Designs)

April 06, 2007 – Interviews for Construction Manager (selected Bovis Lend Lease Company)

March 13, 2008 – Schematic Design 85% (non-day lighting schemes)

May 22, 2008 – Mike Nicklas day lighting critique session no. 1

June 23, 2008 – Architects visited North Carolina schools designed by Mike Nicklas

June 18, 2008 – Team visit to Western Pennsylvania Schools for the Deaf and Blind

November 24, 2008 – Schematic Design completed and signed by OSFC – OSD – OSSB representatives (featuring day lighting & chilled beam solutions)

November 25, 2008 – Design Development work started

December 15, 2008 – OSD user group to examine furniture layouts with the architects

December 18, 2008 – Specified user groups to examine technology, phones, and security layouts with the architects

January 15, 2009 – Biddings for abatement and demolition work on existing dormitories at both schools to commence in order to accommodate new construction

March 28, 2009 – Design Development work to be completed

March 28, 2009 – Early site work design project completed

APRIL 16, 2009 – Ground Breaking Ceremonies to take place (projected)

April 15, 2009 – Demolition and Abatement work on existing dormitories to be completed.  (Abatement will be 5 weeks and Demolition will be immediately afterwards)

May 31, 2009 – Project bids for early site work construction bids to be awarded

June 2009 – Begin early site work construction

July 30, 2009 – Construction Documents to be completed and advertised

September 30, 2009 – Project bids for new schools and dormitories construction to be let

October 31, 2009 – Early site work construction project completed

October 2009 – Begin construction of new academic buildings and residential units
